The JustPlug Resiliency Packages

Build resiliency against prolonged SCE outages with off-grid solar.

Prolonged power outages throw a monkey wrench at everything, from irrigation and food preservation to running life-saving medical devices, leading to inconveniences, monetary losses, and even life-or-death situations.

When the power company turns off electricity in low-density areas, outages often last for days — making it even more critical that folks have backup solutions. We've got plenty of sunshine here, so why not take advantage of it?

Off-grid solar is ideal for building true energy independence in the rural Sunbelt region. It’s maintenance-free and doesn’t rely on external factors like fuel delivery when things get unpredictable.

Our off-grid solar solutions put you in charge. There are no corporate brokers and paper-pushers to add to the expense. Nor will there be anyone who doesn’t understand what it means to live the ranch life selling you cookie-cutter solutions not designed for our environment.

Two birds with one stone: You can lower power bills, too!

You can also use our resiliency kit to lower your electricity bills by leaving it plugged in to run the basics. For example, you may put your fridge, Starlink, and security cameras on off-grid solar when you’re not home to lower power bills and ensure they keep working even if an outage occurs.

If you’re more of a “set it and forget it” type, choose the auto-switchover upgrade to maximize yield from off-grid solar without lifting a finger.

Right-size your backup off-grid solar with these options

We offer three pre-designed options to cover typical use cases. We can also customize your solution based on your needs. All packages include:

  • An onsite consultation where we assess your requirements and help you choose the best package.

  • Solar trajectory calculation and solar panel placement recommendations customized to your property and usage patterns.

  • A built-in manual switchover for your electrical sub-panel via an existing generator inlet to avoid back-feeding risks.

  • Bluetooth-enabled equipment for monitoring solar production and battery charging status via smartphone apps.

  • Material research, procurement, and delivery within Caliente*.

  • 50’ of cables to connect the solar field and the equipment.

  • All necessary fuses and circuit breakers to ensure safety.

  • Onsite implementation and 30-day labor-only warranty within Caliente*.

  • Annual battery health check after 5 years for lithium cobalt batteries and 7 years for LFP batteries within Caliente*.

*We service customers in nearby areas with an additional fee

1. The T: Starting at $3,500

Keeps the basics running:

Here’s an example of what you can run simultaneously on a typical sunny day**:

  • A mini-split air conditioner or a 5,000 BTU window unit during the day

  • Starlink (but putting it to sleep when you go to bed is still a good move)

  • LED lights, a laptop, phone chargers, TV, and radio

  • A small, efficient fridge and a small, efficient chest freezer

**Your mileage may vary depending on the appliances. We can help you determine the limit.

2. The M: Starting at $6,800

Provides more capacity and helps you save more on power bills:

Here’s an example of what you can run simultaneously on a typical sunny day**:

  • A mini-split air conditioner or an efficient 10,000 BTU window unit during the day

  • Starlink (but putting it to sleep when you go to bed is still a good move)

  • LED lights, a laptop, phone chargers, TV, and radio

  • A regular, modern fridge

  • A microwave, toaster oven, or washer

**Your mileage may vary depending on the appliances. We can help you determine the limit.

3. The A: Starting at $9,900

Handle most household needs, including 240V well pumps. Besides providing ample backup for outages, it can make a substantial dent in your monthly power bills:

Here’s an example of what you can run simultaneously on a typical sunny day**:

  • A well pump up to 1.75 HP.

  • A mini-split air conditioner or a 10,000 BTU window unit during the day

  • Starlink (but putting it to sleep when you go to bed is still a good move)

  • LED lights, a laptop, phone chargers, TV, and radio

  • A regular, modern fridge and a chest freezer

  • A microwave or toaster oven

  • A washing machine

**Your mileage may vary depending on the appliances. We can help you determine the limit.

Optional add-ons

Auto-switchover (+$500)

Keep your off-grid solar system plugged into your house to run the basics and maximize savings on your power bills. When the power consumption exceeds the system’s capacity, the system will automatically switch to grid power during normal days. It will return to solar when the power draw drops below the system’s threshold. (For the T and the M.)

Custom solar panel frame blueprint (+$350)

We designed this thick-walled oil pipe frame to withstand the harsh elements and typical wind load in the Caliente area. We customize the design based on the number of panels and your site’s solar trajectory calculation. You also get a shopping list for all the materials with detailed dimensions. The modular design will allow you to add panels in the future. More details here.

What if you want to add capacity later?

The modular and expandable system design allows you to easily add more solar panels to increase power production, upgrade inverter capacity to run more appliances, or boost battery capacity to meet nighttime power usage needs — without a system overhaul or extended downtime.

Moreover, we build all our solutions as appliances (i.e., they plug into an outlet and are not hardwired into a structure’s electric circuit). You can unplug the setup and move it anytime without much fuss.

Nobody likes surprises…

After we discuss your needs and assess your site, we’ll provide a fixed-fee quote covering all the labor and material costs. If the scope changes during the project, we’ll discuss the cost implications with you first.

Pricing on this page should give you a ballpark idea of the cost, but it may fluctuate. The solar equipment and battery supply chain has been extremely volatile. We confirm material pricing and availability for every project before starting work to ensure we can deliver on our promises.

What the package doesn’t include:

  • We’re not a construction company and don’t provide construction services. You are responsible for building a frame for the solar panels and mounting them before the onsite work begins.

  • We’re not a licensed electrician company and don’t provide electrical services. We assume your house’s/cabin’s/trailer’s electric circuits are safe and draw a reasonable amount of power.

  • We don’t provide permitting advice for building and securing the solar panel frame.
